HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) is on scene and reporting live from tonight's "Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Henderson" event.
The Showtime-televised event, which features a heavyweight headliner between MMA legends Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson, takes place at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., near Chicago.
Follow along with our round-by-round updates and official results beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT local time) for the preliminary card and 10 p.m. ET for the main card.
In addition to the night's headliner, the Showtime broadcast features a title fight between women's bantamweight champion Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate, as well a likely No. 1 contender's fight between welterweights Paul Daley and Tyron Woodley.

BRYAN HUMES VS. GABRIEL SALINAS-JONES
Round 1 - Scott Fischer officiates tonight's opening bout. No touch of the gloves as the big men circle. Salinas-Jones tests the jab but takes a low kick. Humes counters. Salinas-Jones shoots, but Humes stuffs and then forces the fight to the mat and lands in top position. He moves quickly to side control and looks for a choke before returning to half guard and dropping a few elbows from the kneeling position. Humes ties him up briefly, but Humes continues with sporadic punches and elbows that land with a thud. Salinas-Jones can do little from his back as he attempts to stall the action and slow the strikes. Salinas-Jones nearly explodes to his feet, but Humes pins him back to the mat. The fighters jockey for position as Salinas-Jones tries to secure a leg, but Humes returns to side control and then north-south position when Salinas-Jones kneels. Salinas-Jones finally works his way back to his feet, which earns a round of applause. Salinas-Jones fakes a punch that badly confused Humes, and Salinas-Jones ducks and scores a slow but successful double-leg takedown. Salinas-Jones frees a leg and looks for mount, but as Humes sits up, he batters him with short punches. Humes resets, but Salinas-Jones take the mount and rains down punches. Humes rolls to his stomach, and Salinas-Jones continues the attack from back mount. It's a tale of two halves in this round, but MMAjunkie.com gives the slight edge to Salinas-Jones for the longer attack.
Round 2 - Salinas-Jones first off low kicks on his tiring opponent and then clinches and looks for the takedown. They stall against the clinch before Salinas-Jones pushes off. He tags Humes with a punch, but he's countered. Humes is clearly tiring, and Salinas-Jones senses it. Still, he backs Salinas-Jones up with the occasional jab. Salinas-Jones looks for an opening for his right hand before shooting and wrapping hips. Humes puts his back against the cage and fends it off. The ref calls for a quick restart. Humes checks a quick left hand and then misses on a low kick. Salinas-Jones throws some jabs, but he still can't really close the distance. He shoots, but Humes easily shrugs him off. Humes lands a solid spinning back kick to the gut, and the crowd cheers. Salinas-Jones uses jabs to set up another takedown attempt. Salinas-Jones drops to his knees, and Humes goes north-south before taking his kneeling opponent's back. Salinas-Jones, though, quickly reverses the position and looks for a front choke. He moves to the side and then bowls over Humes to work from side control. He grabs an arm and uses it to move into full mount. Humes rolls, and Salinas-Jones unloads some slow but effective punches. Humes simply covers up and leaves little of his head to hit. Humes closes out the round in the dominant position but little to show for it. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Salinas-Jones .
Round 3 - Salinas-Jones lands a nice low kick and then knocks Humes to the mat with a leaping knee. He locks in a choke (possibly an arm-triangle choke, though it was hard to see) and quickly forces the tap-out from Humes. Gabriel Salinas-Jones def. DEREK BRUNSON VS. LUMUMBA SAYERS
Round 1 - Brunson swings first as the fighters trade punches. A firefight breaks out against the cage, and Brunson gets the better of it before picking up and slamming Sayers to the mat. Sayers gets back to his feet, but Brunson slams him back down after wrapping him from behind. Sayers again tries to fight his way to back his feet and does so, and another firefight breaks out with heavy blows landing. Sayers tries to pull guard with a guillotine, but Brunson pops out and takes top position. Sayers rolls to his knees as Brunson takes his back. Sayers tries to stand, but Brunson makes it difficult. Brunson instead works some punches to the ears from behind. He then takes back mount before standing and delivering more punches. They land. Sayers, though, is back up, and we reset. Brunson lands a shot that stumbles Sayers. Brunson dives in and misses and crashes head first into the cage. He's back up and then wobbles Sayers with a head kick and unloads a barrage of punches. Sayers hits his knees, and Brunson locks in a rear-naked choke to force a tap-out and end a thoroughly entertaining fight. Derek Brunson def. ALEXIS DAVIS VS. JULIE KEDZIE
Round 1 - Scott Fischer calls the action for the first of two female fights. The fighters circle, and Kedzie follows a front kick with a right hand. Davis goes low with a kick, and they trade quick flurries before Davis clinches and puts her opponent against the cage. Kedzie tries to back out, but Davis is relentless. They trade short body punches, and Kedzie mixes in some knees. The pace slows before trade more knees. Kedzie nearly muscles her way off the cage, but Davis again pins her. They trade more knees (one benefit: no shots to the balls), and they trade furiously until Kedzie finally gets herself free. Kedzie goes low with a kick and eats a counter punch. Kedzie lands a nice combo and resets. She throws a front kick, but Davis checks it and forces her against the cage again. Davis works short punches to the head and body, and Kedzie breaks away as they trade a quick flurry. Davis, though, quickly closes the distance and again takes the clinch to the cage. The fighters look for trip-takedowns, but Davis quickly pushes the action back against the cage. Kedzie creates distance for a knee to the chest before she's pushed into the fence again. There's not a ton of damage, but Davis takes it 10-9 for the control.
Round 2 - Kedzie looks for high kicks and lands some punches before Davis again clinches and puts her against the cage. Davis works short punches to the body, and Kedzie reverses, backs up and delivers a quick combo on the break. Davis eats some punches as she again returns to the clinch and puts Kedzie against the cage. Kedzie attempts some knees, but there's little room to work as Davis presses into her. Kedzie muscles her way off the cage and reverses the clinch, and they break off. Both land some punches before the following clinch, and Kedzie puts Davis against the fence for a change. Davis, though, scores a slick takedown and lands in side control. Kedzie quickly is back up and works a single leg as Davis puts her back against the cage. Kedzie keeps working for it, but Davis shows nice balance. Kedzie lands a knee, but Davis reverses the clinch. They fight for underhooks while trading knees. Kedzie remains in the clinch and briefly gets off the cage, but a stronger Davis presses her back against it. She forces Kedzie to her knees and then takes her back from the standing position. Kedzie uses the cage for balance, but Davis is looking for the rear-naked choke. Kedzie defends well, but she's carrying her opponent's weight and drops to a knee. Davis works in some punches as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Davis.
Round 3 - Our final frame is underway. Davis lands some low kicks as Kedzie is slow to counter. She bounces and tries to avoid the clinch while peppering in some punches. She lands two but eats one, and Davis tags her with an inside-thigh kick. They circle, Kedzie throws a body kick, and Davis catches it and puts her against the cage in a familiar position. Fans and Kedzie's corner tell her to get off the cage, but it's easier said than done. But she quickly reverses and looks for distance, but Davis is a beast in the clinch and takes the fight back to the cage. Kedzie tries a knee, but again, she doesn't have the space she needs to get much behind it. The crowd becomes restless as the pace slows. Kedzie creates distance for a knee and another, but she can't break free. She reverses, but Davis clings tight and soon puts her opponent back against the fence. The crowd wants a restart, but Davis is doing enough. Kedzie tries more knees, but they're just not effective. Kedzie reverses again and looks for the takedown, but Davis gets the underhooks and muscles her way to a reversal against the cage. Davis simply is shutting down Kedzie with the clinch. The fight ends there. It wasn't flashy, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Davis for a 30-27 sweep. Alexis Davis def. Julie Kedzie via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
EDUARDO PAMPLONA VS. TYLER STINSON
Round 1 - "Big" John McCarthy is the man in the middle of the welterweights. Stinson unloads a combo that staggers Pamplona. No one can quite believes, and Pamplona appears to recover. But Stinson unloads a short right on the button, and Pamplona hits the mat out cold. Stinson follows with a single hammerfist before McCarthy dives in to stop it. This one ends in a quick and shocking knockout that has the crowd in disbelief. Tyler Stinson def. Eduardo Pamplona via KO (punch) - Round 1, 0:15
GESIAS CAVALCANTE VS. BOBBY GREEN
Round 1 - Ref Herb Dean gets a nice ovation as the fight gets started. Cavalcante charges forward with a flying knee, but Green easily avoids it. They trrade jabs, and Cavalcante misses with a quick right. Green lands a left hook but eats a low kick. Both fighters start with lots of energy and quick feet. Cavalcante shoots for a single and puts Green against the cage. Green reverses, and they jockey for position against the cage. Green lands a nice right before clinching again. Green ultimately resets, and we start in the center. The fighters wing punches from distance and miss. Green lands a nice straight left and avoids a left hook. The fighters look for timed shots, but both avoid. They reset, and Cavalcante moves in with a nice left. Green counters with a quick left uppercut. With the quick footwork, neither sits in the pocket long. After a quick clinch, Green lands a nice knee to the head before they reset. They circle and feint punches but instead trade low kicks. Cavalcante lands a nice right and then presses Green against the cage. The pace slows before Green breaks away. With a minute to go, the round is up for grabs. Green lands a nice one-two combo, but Cavalcante ducks under a left and checks a low kick. Green gets through the next one, but Cavalcante tags him with a head kick. Green appears OK and tells Cavalcante as much once they're clinched against the cage. It's an extremely close first round. With no clear winner, MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-10.
Round 2 - Cavalcante looks for a low kick, but Green easily sidesteps it. Green delivers some jabs. Cavalcante stalks with wild punches, but can't close the distance. He finally moves in for the clinch, but Green reverses and looks to take his back. Cavalcante tries to fend it off, but Green takes him to the mat. Cavalcante is quickly back up but eats a big punch. Green resets and then works some jabs. Cavalcante has lost some of his energy and tries to shake his arms awake. Cavalcante looks to time a punch, but Green easily sees it coming and pops him with jabs. Cavalcante ducks for a nice body shot, but he looks to exhausted to follow it with anything. Green snaps off a low kick and just narrowly blocks a punch. Cavalcante tries a flying knee that's blocked, and Green reverses and puts him against the cage. Cavalcante finally gets the takedown he needs and work from full guard. Green ties him up and looks to sweep. Cavalcante works short punches, but little is landing. Cavalcante frees a leg, but the pace has slowed drastically as he does little with the top position. Cavalcante, though, hops into mount and lands a couple big blows. Green rolls to his knees, and Cavalcante torques a rear-naked choke. Green taps slowly, but with the fighter against the cage, the ref missed it, and the round ends. Amazing. The cameras caught it, and the crowd boos. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Cavalcante.
Round 3 - Cavalcante looks a bit more sprite and works his jab. An alert Green easily avoids. Cavalcante works low kicks and body kcisk, but they're not doing much. They reset and trade jabs, and Cavalcante misses on a high kick before eating a quick right to the chin. Green just misses on an uppercut, and they briefly clinch. Cavalcante uses an overhand right to set up a takedown attempt, but Green reverses and puts him against the cage. The pace slows as they fight for underhooks. Green delivers a few knees with little behind them. Green keeps him pinned against the cage, and the crowd grows restless. Green maintains the underhooks before finally breaking off. Back in the center of the cage, Cavalcante misses with a head kick. He pivots and crouches and fakes a punch. Cavalcante shoots again, but Green easily stuffs it and puts him against the cage while working for underhooks. Green takes the fight to the mat and pops Cavalcante when he gets back to his feet. They restart in the center, and Green pops him with a counter shot when Cavalcante telegraphs an overhand. Cavalcante stalks and looks for a knee, but Green again reverses and clinches. Cavalcante slaps on a guillotine and pulls guard, which excites the crowd. But Green pops out his head. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Green for a 29-29 tie. This one could go either way. TAREC SAFFIEDINE VS. SCOTT SMITH
Round 1 - Round 1 - A touch of gloves gets us started. Both are light on the feet and pawing quick jabs. Smith lands first with a straight left. They bounce and throw, but little lands. Saffiedine lands a nice punch-low-kick combo. He then works the jab before settling for a low kick and another. Smith clinches and delivers a knee against the cage, but Saffiedine reverses it and works punches while clinched. Smith ties him up, and Saffiedine breaks away with a nice combo of a body punch and head shot. They take the center of the cage, and Saffiedine fires off a low kick. Smith stalks and pushes forward with jabs. They clinch, and Smith catches a head kick. Saffiedine stays upright and looks for a guillotine. He can't get it, and they jockey for position from the clinch. The ref calls for a quick restart. Smith misses with a right. Saffiedine answers with an inside leg kick and has his head kick checked. Smith lands a nice inside leg kick that briefly knocks Saffiedine off balance. Saffiedine works the punch-kick combo again. He then throws a spinning back head kick that narrowly misses. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Saffiedine.
Round 2 - The fighters trade jabs, and Smith lands a nice succession of lefts. Saffiedine lands a quick punch to the jaw and follows with a low kick. After taking a low kick, he then lands a solid head kick and clinches and puts Smith against the cage. He delivers a left before resetting. Smith tries a right and is countered with a couple big blows that buckle him. Saffiedine moves in and clinches against the cage. He backs away and picks away with jabs as Smith somehow remains alert. He tries a flying knee that misses and then clinches again. He hits Smith with forearm strikes and clinches again. Saffiedine lands a knee, and both fighters wing power shots that miss on the break. Saffiedine lands a crushing head kick and pops Smith with followup punches, but Smith dives for a leg to buy recovery time. Saffiedine stands and then drops and tags the kneeling Smith with more punches. He then takes his back for more punches. Smith looks to work his way back to his feet. Saffiedine clings to his back, but he's too high, and Smith backs out and gets to his feet. Saffiedine stalks patiently and then pops Smith a flurry. Smith somehow remains upright. and Saffiedine clinches to deliver a few more punches before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores a lopsided round 10-8 for Saffiedine.
Round 3 - The fighters circle and trade, and Saffiedine is clearly the fresher fighter. Smith misses on a low kick and quickly circles to reset. Saffiedine snaps off a low kick. Saffiedine goes high with a kick and that follows with a combo. Smith survives. Saffiedine works low kicks and then sidesteps Smith's advance. The fighters trade jabs that land. Smith throws a low kick. Saffiedine gets through a quick left. Saffiedine lands a combo. Smith continues pressing forward, though. Saffiedine starts to pick apart Smith with straight punches. Smith, though, won't back down and presses forward. Saffiedine lands a nice overhand right. Saffiedine grazes him with a head kick and follows with a counter combo. Smith backs him up with a high kick that misses. Saffiedine fakes a punch to land a low kick. with the crowd cheering, the fighters swing wildly, and Smith crashes into the fencing on an attempt. Smith lands an overhand right and talks, but Saffiedine tags him with a quick right. Smith continues chasing, eats a head kick, and chases with punches and a head kick. PAUL DALEY VS. TYRON WOODLEY
Round 1 - "Big" John McCarthy is in charge of this potential No. 1 contender's bout. Both fighters crouch low in a fighter's stance. Lots of bouncing and little throwing early. Woodley looks for low kicks, catches a leg kick,a nd looks for the takedown. Daley fends it off as he's pressed into the cage. Woodley continues working for it but takes a knee to the groin that prompts a timeout. Woodley clearly is in discomfort. McCarthy warns Daley to keep the knees up. The fighters touch gloves, and we're underway again. Daley looks for punches but can't find his mark. Woodley shoots from across the cage and puts Daley against the cage. Woodley works some ineffective knees as Daley fends off the takedown efforts. Daley looks to reverse, but Woodley keeps him pinned against the cage. The pace slows, and the ref calls for a restart. Daley moves forward with punches. Woodley ducks under a punch and wraps the hips. Daley remains upright, and Woodley pushes him into the cage. The trade knees from close quarters before Daley breaks off and restarts. The fighters trade punches, and Daley clinches. Woodley fights for underhooks, reverses, and puts Daley against the cage. Daley reverses again, and then Woodley does the same as the offense remains minimal. They trade body shots before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Woodley in a close one.
Round 2 - Daley clinches and delivers a stinging knee to the gut. Woodley reverses, and they stall in the clinch. The ref wants some action. Woodley secures a single leg and finally gets the drag-takedown. He works from full guard, but Daley largely keeps him tied up. Woodley works in some short elbow strikes, but he can't get much behind them. Woodley works short punches to the body. Daley, though, largely negates any of Woodley's offense. The ref again calls for action. Daley gets to the cage and tries to get to his feet. He gets to the seated position, but Woodley hangs on him from the top and then flattens him back down to the mat. Daley again tries to get back up, but Woodley's smothering top game denies him. Woodley mixes in a few punches, but it's been mostly a wrestling match. The ref finally calls for a restart. Once up, Woodley shoots for a single leg. Daley collapses on top of him and delivers a body punch and postures up and tries another blow before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Woodley.
Round 3 - Woodley paws the jab and looks for a power shot. Woodley avoids, but Daley is the aggressor. However, the aggression gets the better of him, and Woodley ducks and shoots to score the takedown. He frees a leg and works from half guard. Daley is pinned against the cage as Woodley works from the top. Woodley tries some elbow strikes, but there's not much there. Daley tries to back into the fencing for leverage to get back up, but Woodley continues his smothering top game. Daley ties up his arms and avoids punishment as the crowd becomes restless. Daley gets to his knees during a scramble, and he gets to the standing position as Woodley continues pressing him into the cage. Daley drops to a knee as Woodley works for a single-leg. Daley scrambles and delivers a knee before fending off a takedown. Woodley desperately shoots from his knees, but Daley lands on top of the kneeling fighter. The crowd is supporting Daley now. Daley stands and resets, and Woodley instantly shoots and briefly forces the fight to the mat. Woodley remains kneeling and eats punches. Daley pops him with a big knee as they return to the mat. Daley then grabs an arm and somersaults before Woodley escapes and returns to top position. A nice sequence to close out the round. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Daley but the fight 29-28 for Woodley.
TIM KENNEDY VS. ROBBIE LAWLER
Round 1 - Herb Dean gets us started. Kennedy lunges and misses with a punch. He instead lands a low kick. The fighters bounce and circle, but little is thrown early. Neither wants to be the first to the punch. Kennedy eats a punch as he throws a low kick that hits the groin and prompts a timeout. Lawler is good to go quickly, and we're underway again. Kennedy shoots for a takedown, but Lawler easily snuffs it out. Kennedy moves in twice and eats heavy shots both times. They restart, and Lawler has some swagger in his step. The fighters collide with knees, but Kennedy moves and scrambles for the takedown. They battle on the ground, and Lawler twice is warned about grabbing the fence. They continue scrambling, and Kennedy ends up with a headlock position with Lawler kneeling. Kennedy then looks to take his back, but Lawler circles and returns to his feet. Kennedy moves in with a left and resets. Kennedy shoots and gets the takedown after dipping low, and he ends up in side control. He then moves to mount and flattens out Lawler. Kennedy delivers a couple punches and tries to keep Lawler from rolling, but Lawler escapes in the process. They scramble on the feet before the round ends. It's close, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Kennedy based on the aggression.
Round 2 - Kennedy works low kicks, but Lawler is unaffected. Kennedy shoots, but Lawler sprawls and fends it off. On the reset, Lawler crouches low and circles. Kennedy misses on a low kick. Kennedy presses forward with punches that come up short. Kennedy misses on a front kick. Kennedy closes the distance, and they clinch. Kennedy wrestles him to the mat and seated position, but a left uppercut on the way in must have scored because Kennedy is cut. He then flattens him out, though Kennedy is bleeding badly from the head. Kennedy moves into half guard and attempts mount, but Lawler halts his progress while avoiding the blood from above. Kennedy unloads a few punches before Lawler corrals him again. Kennedy follows with heavy elbows, one after another. Kennedy works punches to the head and body as he postures up. The blows keep coming in bursts. He follows with hammerfists to the gut followed by punches to the head. Kennedy closes out the round in the dominant position. Round 3 - Lawler takes the center of the cage as Kennedy circles the perimeter. Kennedy looks to shoot, but Lawler scampers away. Lawler crouches low again. Kennedy throws a front kick to the knee and then eats an uppercut. Lawler is stalking and looking confident. Kennedy shoots, but Lawler fends it off. Kennedy throws a soft head kick that partially lands. Lawler throws a leading knee/kick that just misses. Kennedy thinks about shooting again, but Lawler easily snuffs it out. The crowd wants some action, but little follows. Neither is willing to engage. Lawler tries a kick and Kennedy answers with his own. The offense has tapered off late in the fight. Both circle and look for an opening, but neither takes it. Kennedy finally closes the distance, wraps the hips, and gets the takedown. He drops some punches and elbows to the head and body as the fight comes to a close. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Kennedy for the 30-27 sweep. Tim Kennedy def. CHAMP MARLOES COENEN VS. MIESHA TATE
Round 1 - Tonight's title fight is underway. Tate works the jab and misses on a low kick. Coenen revs up to throw, but Tate closes the distance and clinches to put her against the cage. Coenen delivers a knee and then reverses the position. Tate reverses again and looks low for a takedown. Coenen fends it off and then breaks away to reset. Coenen lands a nice left, but Tate answers with a combo. Tate shoots, but Coenen controls the head and backs into the cage. Tate works on the single leg and gets the takedown. Coenen secures the head on the way down, and the choke is deep. Coenen torques it from her back but finally is forced to give it up. Tate now works from side control and then into the north-south position before returning to the side. Tate delivers a knee to the ribs and elbows to the head. The ref wants more action. The crowd roars when Tate briefly goes into north-south position, but she returns to side control and delivers punches to the body and elbows to the head. MMAjunkie.com scores the opening of the five-round for Tate, 10-9.
Round 2 - Coenen swings on the opening, but Tate closes the distance and again puts her against the cage. Tate is warned about grabbing the cage. Tate works for a single leg, but after hitting the mat, Coenen takes her back. Coenen gets in one hook and then secures the body triangle. Tate controls the wrists in hopes of avoiding the choke. Tate struggles to free herself, but Coenen's grip is tight. Tate kneels and covers her head, but Coenen again flattens her out. Tate continues focusing on the wrists. Coenen delivers a few punches and works for the choke. Tate fends it off as Coenen works punches to the ribs. She tries head shots, but Tate covers. Coenen postures up from back mount and delivers punches, but she's warned about punches to the back of the head. She rolls Tate and again works for the choke. Tate ably defends and successfully survives the round. But it belongs to Coenen, 10-9.
Round 3 - Coenen lands a nice body kick, and Tate counters with a combo. They reset, and Coenen lands a low kick. Tate considers a takedown but eats a punch. Coenen lands another low kick, but Tate successfully dips and gets the takedown. Coenen works butterfly guard as Tate works from the top. Coenen ties her up and avoids damage, and Tate struggles to make room to posture up. The pace slows as Coenen corrals Tate with full guard. Tate finally stands and looks for an opening, but she's forced back into guard to rethink a strategy. Coenen pulls her tight, and the ref eventually calls for a standup. The fighters trade low kicks. Coenen is quicker on the trigger, but Tate scores an easy takedown. Coenen again works butterfly guard before settling for full guard. Tate is pulled close, and Coenen essentially shuts down her opponent's offense from her back. Coenen sweeps just as the round ends. It's an action-light round, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Tate.
Round 4 - Coenen gain is first on the trigger, but she's not landing with much accuracy. Tate stays low and looks for an opening. Her punches are coming up well short, but Coenen can't counter in time. Coenen catches a low kick, but she can do little with it. Tate shoots and pushes Coenen across the cage and into the fencing and gets the takedown. Coenen secures a choke as she hits her back, but Tate again easily pops out. Tate has side control, but against the cage, she has no room to maneuver. She finally creates some and delivers punches to the head. Coenen tries to reverse, but Tate pins her to the canvas. Tate sees an opening and grabs an arm-triangle choke. She torques it, and after a struggle, Coenen is forced to tap-out. We've got a new champ. Miesha Tate def. FEDOR EMELIANENKO VS. DAN HENDERSON
Round 1 - Emelianenko fights in the M-1 gloves, Henderson in the traditional Strikeforce red. Henderson opens with a massive flurry and Emelianenko is backpeddling, but he somehow survives. The firefight continues, and Henderson presses Emelianenko against the cage as they both catch a breather. Henderson works inside knees and then attempts a takedown, but Emelianenko grabs the cage, which prompts a warning from Herb Dean. Henderson has underhooks and works knees. Emelianenko calmly looks to his corner as the once-frantic pace slows. Various chants break out throughout the arena. The ref warns Henderosn he needs to see some action. He then breaks off with a punch and elbow combo that just miss. The fighters reset in the center. Emelianenko looks for an opening, but Henderson is waiting. Emelianenko, though, lands a right, and Henderson is forced to retreat and reset. Emelianenko unloads a barrage and drops Henderson with a right. Henderson looks out of it but somehow unloads a barrage from his knees and has the Russian in trouble. Emelianenko goes face first into the canvas, and Henderson pours on punishment to get the stoppage. A shocking finish and unbelievable fight. Dan Henderson def.
