Fedor Emelianenko's manager Vadim Finkelstein spoke this week about Fedor Emelianenko's upcoming bout against Dan Henderson in July and foreshadowed on what fans could expect if Fedor is too lose to Henderson when they meet in Chicago:

"I think that if Fedor loses to Dan Henderson, he will retire from Mixed Martial Arts. And like I said many times before, it will be his decision and we (M-1 Global) have no influence of any kind on whatever he decides to do. It's all up to him.But we hope for the best. Fedor is very motivated, and will be more than ready for this fight. He has a new goal, and is fully concentrated on reaching it."

The last two fighters to face Nick Diaz in Strikeforce will now face each other on July 30 in Chicago.

Paul Daley has signed on to face Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos on the upcoming Fedor vs. Henderson card set to go down at the Sears Center in Chicago.

Daley’s management team, Fight Management announced the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Sunday.

Originally, Santos was scheduled to face Team Quest fighter Tarec Saffiedine, but it appears Strikeforce has opted to go a difference direction for the July 30 card.

Daley returns to action following one of the most action packed single rounds in MMA history in his war, albeit brief, fight with Nick Diaz back in April.

Before succumbing to the champion to close the fight, Daley dropped Diaz midway through the first round and almost finished him, but he survived to battle back and finish the Brit with just seconds remaining.

Daley will now face another striker in Chute Boxe fighter Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos.

“I’m happy to be fighting again. It’s a big fight. For those who haven’t seen the Melvin Manhoef vs. Cyborg fight, watch it and expect the same outcome for Cyborg … He’ll be knocked out,” Daley said.

“Just like me, Cyborg’s been around since the Cage Rage days. He brings experience and power to the cage, like me. He’s an aggressive guy, like me. And it will be an entertaining fight, like mine always are.”

Santos hasn’t fought since he lost to Diaz by armbar in January this year. Prior to that, Santos knocked out former Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis in his first fight at 170lbs.

The bout between Daley and Santos will be a featured fight on the Chicago card coming up on July 30, headlined by the heavyweight super fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson.

Currently, the Strikeforce welterweight title remains up for grabs after Diaz vacated the belt to head over to the UFC to face champion Georges St-Pierre. While no announcement has been made if this fight has title implications, all signs would point to the winner being directly in the line for a shot at the belt in the future.

“Coming off the back of the Diaz fight, which a lot of people are talking about as one of the most exciting one round fights in MMA history, we’re looking forward to an equally if not more entertaining fight against another proven fighter in Cyborg,” said Daley’s manager Wad Alameddine. “These two guys are the top two Welterweights in Strikeforce behind Nick and it’s a fight all the fans are looking forward to. Let’s be honest, someone’s getting knocked out.”

Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson takes place on Saturday night July 30 in Chicago’s Sears Center.

A middleweight confrontation between former title challengers Robbie Lawler and Tim Kennedy has been added to Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Henderson,” the promotion announced Friday via Twitter.

Headlined by a titular heavyweight contest between former Pride Fighting Championships champion Fedor Emelianenko and reigning Strikeforce 205-pound king Dan Henderson, the event goes down July 30 from the Sears Centre in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Lawler, 29, has lost three of his last five contests, most recently falling to Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo Souza in January. A UFC and EliteXC veteran, Lawler is known for his knockout power, earning 15 of his 18 career victories by KO. The southpaw's most recent victories both ended in such fashion, as “Ruthless” relieved Matt Lindland of his consciousness in December after knocking out Melvin Manhoef in a shocking, come-from-behind victory in January 2010.

A winner of five of his last six bouts, Kennedy's last loss also came to “Jacare.” Prior to that loss in August 2010, the middleweight had won four-straight bouts. The 31-year-old has finished 12 of his 13 career victims by either knockout or submission and has only been finished once in his nine years as a pro. Most recently, Kennedy finished Manhoef in March, taking the Dutchman down and sinking in a rear-naked choke.

Evangelista Santos has suffered a shoulder injury in training and will not compete against Paul Daley at Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Henderson.”

Sherdog.com on Friday confirmed Santos’ injury and his plans to withdraw from his July 30 conflict with a source close to the situation. According to Sherdog’s source, “Cyborg” will need to undergo four weeks of rehabilitation on his injured shoulder, preventing him from competing against the heavy-handed Brit. MMAPrime.tv first reported the news.

Headlined by the titular heavyweight confrontation between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson, the event will emanate from the Sears Centre in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Ill. It will also likely feature a women’s welterweight title scrap between Marloes Coenen and Miesha Tate, as well as a pivotal middleweight tilt pitting Robbie Lawler against Tim Kennedy.

Santos 33, had a two-fight winning streak snapped in January by Strikeforce welterweight king Nick Diaz. New to the welterweight ranks, the Brazilian competed for most of his career at light heavyweight and middleweight before making the cut to 170 pounds last year. A product of the vaunted Chute Boxe camp, Santos, 33, has knocked out 11 of his 18 career victims since beginning his professional career in 1997.
